Running and Relaxation Techniques
"OBJECTIVE---Thirty one adult male runners were studied...for six months
in three groups practicing either meditation or self-induced training or
serving as controls (no technique tried.)
"RESULTS--'Measures of physically induced stress were] significantly
decreased in the meditation group compared with the control group. No
difference was observed 'between the self-trained]
and the control group." Emphasis added.
