Vertigo
Maybe Hitchcock had it wrong. Vertigo is the illusion of movement--a
sensation as if the entire world were revolving around the patient.
More important, what is the
cause?
It appears that vertigo is
the result of insufficient blood supply. It should be treated
by a
physician…Welsh, Welsh & Lewin, Annals of Otolaryngology, Rhinol.,
Laryngol., July 2000.
DETAILS: Another view was
espoused in the Medical Journal of Australia*, that
there may be benign
causes, such as sleeping position, or migraines. This report
suggested
that "Exercise therapy...." rather than drug treatment may be advisable,
and that
the same may be true for dizziness. A second opinion is always
advisable.

Hospital, Melbourne, May 15, 2000.
