Fish Oils and Cancer Risk

(OR) for the highest intake of n-3 'fats] compared to the lowest one
were 0.5 '50% reduced risk] for oral and pharyngeal cancer 'and for]
esophageal, 0.7 '30% reduced risk] for colon cancer, 0.8 for rectal and
breast cancer '20% reduced risk, and 0.6 '40% reduced risk] for ovarian
cancer."
Risks were greater
as consumption of fish oils went down.

DETAILS: Fish
richest in n-3 oils include Wild (not farm-fed) Salmon, Herring,
Mackerel, Albacore Tuna. One can also obtain capsules, each generally
with one gram of oil. These are usually made from Menhaden fish. It
would be advisable to take vitamins E and C (both low dosage) each time
one takes fish oil capsules to reduce oxidation.
