Doctors Reluctant To Report Colleagues For Being Impaired, Incompetent Alternative Health Articles scientific research on alternative health Oat Ingredient May Help in Losing Weight Nutrients for Memory Decline Vitamin D For Heart Disease, High Blood Pressure, Cancer

The Associated Press: "Your doctor could be drunk, addicted to drugs or outright incompetent, but other physicians may not blow the whistle. A new survey finds that many American physicians fail to report troubled colleagues to authorities, believing that someone else will take care of it, that nothing will happen if they act or that they could be targeted for retribution. A surprising 17 percent of the doctors surveyed had direct, personal knowledge of an impaired or incompetent physician in their workplaces, said the study's lead author, Catherine DesRoches of Harvard Medical School. One-third of those doctors had not reported the matter to authorities such as hospital officials or state medical boards."

Nutrients for Memory Decline

"We review the experimental evaluations of several widely marketed nonprescription compounds claimed to be memory enhancers and treatments for age-related memory decline. We generally limit our review to double-blind placebo-controlled* studies.

Do Doctors Spend Time Learning?  Alternative Health Articles scientific research on alternative health

Hi Bill
I totally agree with you when you said doctors do not spend the time learning. I wanted my doctor to go to the seminar with the doctor who invented gleevec and he said he does not need to because he knows everything!!! When I was first diagnosed I asked the first doctor I went to to go with me to one of the Leukemia meeting. Sometimes there are doctors present at some of the meetings. And he would not go. He said he learned it all in college and he take continuing courses. Amazing...I go to Leukemia meetings in Dade, West Broward and North Broward. The LLS which is the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society sponsor the meetings. I will get your book right now!
